Aden's Schooling

I taught Aden from home and started a little Pre-Preschool. That later turned into a weekly class "Mommy and Me Music Makers" which later turned into a monthly class. It was free and at the church. I had 30 people signed up Mom's and kids included. :) I would play fiddle music on the violin and learned kids songs on the guitar. I had a number of kids instruments some of them homemade the kids could borrow. We would spend an hour singing, dancing, playing music, learning from the calender, and doing table time activities including learning a shape, sign, spanish and english, color, and letter of the day. We used playdough and coloring. We also put a ball in a blanket and worked on team work of throwing it up and catching it. Although it was a ton of work, the boys and I had a lot of fun. I know the other Mom's did too.

Aden and his friend Addy Blunck. We had some fun play days living in such a tight nit neighborhood. We would have a party at the playground sometimes every night. Since it was right outside our door it was easier then keeping the kids locked up. We also would either lend or borrow something at least a few times a week. It was a very wonderful memory living at Peterson Point. Thanks friends we made there for your love. :)

This was a few months ago but I just downloaded the pictures. These are some of my activity day girls from Utah. As the Primary 2nd Councilor I oversaw the activity day girls and had the opportunity of choreographing and arranging a musical number for the talent show. The song was "I am a Child of God." It was beautiful and wonderful experience for all of us.

Wowy, A lot has happened

We had so much love and support this last month and have been growing and learning a lot. Most important we have been growing closer to both of our families.

Sorry I haven't been blogging. Our technology is limited with our income so it's been a pain to upload pics. I will try and do better 2012. Instead of waiting to upload all the stuff I missed I am going to start with now and later I will go back and fill in the blanks.

We are now in Southern California living with Eric's parents. Yes 4 of us in one little bedroom. Not ideal. Things are looking very hopeful this year. We decided to break a lot of bad habits and learn from our mistakes and move forward to a new life. We feel very blessed to live in such a warm climate and have Eric's siblings and parents and extended family all so close.

Eric is working on changing careers from Horticulture to Information Technology. The road has been a lot harder and longer then we would have hoped. We have both learned a lot about what is possible in this economy and Eric's limits. We are grateful for the family support we have received. Eric has found a school he really likes and is planning on getting another Bachelors Degree so he can compete in his field. Right now we are making a plan to find the most steady position he can and hopefully move into the IT department when he graduates.

We went to the beach yesterday with Eric's Mom and Sister and her family. We had a lot of fun. It takes practice knowing what to bring and so forth, so I guess I will just have to keep going until I am really good at it. ;)

Neighbors, friends and now primary children's baptism

I'm so glad I was able to be apart of helping bring these sweet children unto our Heavenly Father. I was able to introduce the gospel to them and take the missionary lessons with them and watch their eyes open to the truth. This is a picture of us at their baptism a few weeks ago. I sang with another neighbor/friend Katelyn Thomas a duet "Teacher do you Love me?" at their baptism. It was very beautiful. Katelyn was the little girl who asked if we could go invite Tatumn to activity days which is what started the whole process. :) I hope they continue to learn and grow like they have this summer.

Carter had the perfect 1st Birthday. We started by having their life size stuffed animals at the table with party hats on and a living room full of balloons and streamers and birthday decorations. He and Aden loved it. We had a wonderful breakfast, then went to the mall playground and had the whole thing to ourselves. Then we came home and I finished a birthday cake and we met our neighbors and friends at our community pool for a fun party. Then that weekend Grandparents came to town and we had a official party with Turtle Icecream cake and presents. :)

We went out to the mountains on a drive and a walk to help with all the stress we have been going through lately. It was really nice. Here are some pictures. The river is suppose to be slow and shallow enough to walk across. There was so much snow this year everywhere except one place was still closed due to snow in mid June! The river was flowing like a fire hose rushing down the hill. There have been a few toddlers who have drown this month because of the high water and lack of parental supervision. We kept a hold on our little ones.

The last picture is a family in our ward and building. They have been so much fun! Emilie and I must have been friends in heaven we just get a long too well for only knowing each other a week. :)

Walking, talking, laughing, and being an adorable bundle of joy. He did have to cry for 3 hours because of his little stubborn personality that wanted to stay up until 11pm every night and play with Mom. He is back on a schedule now and while sharing a room with Aden DID NOT WORK, he has his own little corner in front on Mom and Dad's walk in closet where he has is own new crib, a picture of him and a picture of Jesus.

Aden is learning how to use the pedels on his tricycle. He did so great last night by himself!

We are now living in Midvale Utah. We had a big month in May and long story short ended up here instead of L.A. We are really enjoying it here. We have a great ward and the best neighbors we could ask for. We are on the bottom floor and that is nice because we are just steps from the playground and no carrying stuff up stairs. It's got it's cons too, lack of privacy, hearing the noise above us, and safety is better on higher floors. We are still really liking it :)

Aden loves to play with his playdough, color, play with cars, trucks, planes, drink chocolate milk and apple juice, go swimming, play with Carter, ruff house, giggle, run, go on any adventure, go to church, build a church out of blocks or playdough, and pretty much anything fun he is up for the ride with full smiles. He is a lot of fun to be around. His speech is very good and can say anything he wants. He turns into a little baby copying Carter sometimes so we remind him he does know how to talk :)

Aden still gives his magical hugs and kisses! He also love watching Barney, Mickey Mouse Club House, reading books, Handy Manny, and Special agent Oso. He is a good singer and a great dancer!(Aden put on Carter's baby hat in the car, we call him a little nut.) He and his Dad sit down and crack and eat nuts together. They are both nut lovers. Aden is really good at saying "Sorry, sorry, sorry, I make good choices." I am trying to train him well. Eric and I make sure when we make bad choices we apologize to him too. We also say "I forgive you" a lot in our home and mend any hurt feelings. I really like it. Every day things are happy and settled. :)

Carter is changing so much!
He took his first steps right after he turned 10 months this month. He was walking from the ottoman to the couch and did a quick step step while he wasn't holding on to either. Then the next day he was standing and went to walk away from the ottoman and took one step. Then yesterday at church took two more. He will not do it on demand. :)

Carter learned how to clap the week before that at 9 months. He loves it! When we force his hands and then show him with our own he will start clapping himself and smile huge so happy that he could accomplish it! SO ADORABLE! He has been saying "Dadadada" for months, said "Mommom" when he was crying randomly before that, now says "Mom Mom Mom"when he really wants me. It is usually when I am in the bathroom getting ready and he is stuck at the gate. I use to let him in but he goes strait for the toilet and keeps flushing and flushing. Oh Carter. :) He has waved at the right time and said "Hi" a few times at the right time. The other day he said "A-dee" twice. That is what Aden calls himself so that is what we all call him around the house.

Carter turns at least half of the women heads at the grocery store and church. He has a magical smile and as we walk around we hear them talking about him "Oh he is just so cute!" In church no matter which way he looks he has some ladies smiling at him and making faces to catch his attention. :) Carter loves playing with Aden, moving, EATING, laughing, he is a little Mama's boy, he crawls really fast and puts is left knee up using his foot to crawl instead of his knee on hard surfaces. Carter and Aden are both sick with terrible coughs and runny noses. It is always something!

What to do on ANOTHER rainy day!

Aden has a lot of energy so when he is needing to get it out I encourage him to run around the kitchen island.

Twenty laps was his previous record.

Today Aden hopped, ran, walked, did the Rexburg shuffle, and tip toed 73 laps around the island.

A couple day's ago Carter was standing at the baby gate with Aden and yelled "Mom Mom" reaching up for me in tears. I picked him up and he was happy pappy. He did that as a baby yelling "MOM" clear as day when he wanted me. Then it turned into "Dad dad dadadadadadada" Which is mostly what we hear these days. :) 9 m

Easter and General Conference!

We had a really fun General Conference this year. We took up some of my brother's family tradtions of treats and surprises. Aden colored a conference coloring book that have online and the boys got lots of fun little things. I would explain to Aden in simple terms what they were talking about and he would say, "Oh,ya!" Sunday we were able to have the Geddes' over for some Easter egg coloring and egg hunt. It was Clay's first time and they really had fun. :) Look at these creative eggs.

I keep listening to the talks and Aden has requested over and over, "Watch Conference" so he will sit and watch the speaker for a while without being bored.

This is the first time in my life I think...that we have celebrated the Easter Bunny on Sunday. We did it this way because Eric was off to work before the kids woke on Saturday and we all wanted to celebrate together.

Papa got a puzzle for his Conference surprise and Aden really wanted to help. It was an adult one though so Aden would just mess it up or loose the pieces. We told him we would ask the Easter bunny to bring him one to play with. He made the Easter bunny a drawing and left some carrots for him to nibble. I asked him "Aden what should we leave the Easter Bunny to say thank you for our surprises?" Aden said,"Surprises". So that is what we left him. :)

Aden got 10 things of play dough for Easter. We have 2 left because he plays with them for so long they dry out, or he takes them around the house to play with them and forgets where they are...oh or he throws them behind the couch and Mom is too lazy to pull the couch out again and get it.

Carter's pajama's aren't buttoned because it's not worth the fight to get him to hold still that long.

Look at this little boy. Only 8 months old and he is playing with his horse correctly. He also likes to hold toy cars and crawl with them as they drive across the floor. We will have to get a video.

This was the weekend I had the cold/flu so we didn't make it to church. But we still had a good Easter and are so Grateful for our SAVIOR and our Father in Heaven.

Carter stood for 4 seconds by himself today :) 9 months old.

He started crawling at the beginning of 7 months I believe. He got that down in about 1 1/2 weeks and then moved to pulling himself up to walls, people, the couch, and anything he could find. He is really quick and very busy. He will find anything he is not suppose to get and be there in a few seconds putting whatever he can reach in his mouth.

Aden has been doing great. He loves to copy...yes even Carter. Aden will get down on his hands and knees and crawl around with Carter mimicking everything he does, including pouting. Aden's vocabulary is doing excellent. He is a good talker and pretty much blabs all day. He is a great dancer and loves life! He gets excited about everything and is really good at building his blocks. He calls whatever he buids a church. He asks if we can go to church every day.
He built this all by himself! He is now 2 1/2 years old.

Nursery is his favorite part of the week. I don't blame him he has awesome nursery teachers. Aden sang in sacrament with the primary for the first time on Mother's day. I went up with him and help him and helped all the other nursery kids that had no clue what they were doing. It was fun. :) Aden knows the first 6 words to "I am a Child of God" and makes up the rest. He also knows the first words to "ABC" and then makes up the rest. He has the melody great. He also loves to sing "As I have loved you".

The other day I woke up to Aden in Carter's pack in play. Since we only have a two bedroom and Carter has been having so many terrible nights we put Carter in our extra bathroom in a pack in play. So anyway I woke up to Aden in Carter's pack in play. He had dumped the bathroom trash in the bed and unrolled the whole roll of toilet paper and mangled it to the point of not being usable. He was trying to hide Carter in all the trash and Carter didn't like it very much. Oh My. The memories.

We have recently discovered why Aden has been waking up 4 times a night calling for Mom and asking "Me sleep couch". He is afraid of the shadow's his night light casts in his room. We let him sleep with his light on last night and didn't hear from him until 6:20am. Oh gol. :)

The other day Aden took off his pajama's and took a sticker off the bread bag and stuck it on his chest. The sticker said, "All Natural" We thought it was pretty funny. I fried our camera batteries so we didn't get a picture, but maybe we will roll play later. This was Mother's Day. I asked him while we were sitting out on the patio watching it rain. "Aden do you have any good advice for me?" He said, "Go to church. Learn Jesus Christ." :)

Carter has really been through a lot. We finally got his acid reflux under control doubling his dose. It's quite wonderful that our insurance covers it all because is medicine is $180 a month. We have to call ahead to get it ordered because the pharmacy has to get the approval of the insurance every time and that takes forever.

Lets see also I had terrible ear aches last month and Carter started acting and had a terrible night. We took him to the doctor and spent 30 mins pressure washing his ear to get it clean enough to see. Then the doctor confirmed he had an ear infection. This is the first we have ever had. Aden has avoided them all together. We got him some medicine and Grandma Denney recommended some sweet oil drops. Within a week we were both better. I had a terrible cold flu that weekend also that cleared within the week.

I never got to finish my European decor because we didn't have the funds. But that is okay. I learned a lot and gained experience. Plus I didn't spend very much and got most stuff on clearance. My London bathroom is my favorite and the only finished one, besides 1 prop and I will take pics and add that later.

So back to crazy problems with Carter. The next scenario was when that was cleared up we ran out of formula as we had been getting WIC formula and that is the very expensive brand. We had previously tried every brand of formula and Carter was upset with all of them. We then went back to Soy and his body was accustomed to formula instead of breast milk he took it and we had a happy baby.

Well babies grow out of these milk intolerances. Aden had it and grew out of it. So I decided to try cow's milk formula. (Cutting corners to save costs is not always a good idea.)He was quite fussy for a few days, had a terrible night, then had a great night. Well we got more soy formula checks and I tried to get him back on his usual brand. That didn't work so well. He was so fussy and crying and refused the soy. So Eric took his lunch break to bring us some more of the cow's milk formula and happy pappy he drank it all and went to sleep. It ended up working out because with Eric's new salary we won't need government assistance so now he's on formula that is half the price and still really great for him.

Alright so you think things would calm down right? Oh no that would be too easy. Then we took Carter in for his 9 month check up. Turns out they forgot to give him his 6 months shots and after an hour and a half in the doctors office we did them at the end and did our best to move his legs around and then get out of there.

The doctors office we go to is really cool. It has two floors. One is for sick visits and one is for healthy visits. The sick visit floor has two lobby's. One is for contagious and the other is for not contagious. They have every room painted with custom murals themed to children's novels and fairy tales. Since we go to the doctor about 5 times a month we get a different room each time and still haven't seen them all.

So Carter got his shots and Eric was on the phone in the car with an interview for a new position down in California. I should have moved Carter's legs around more but was excited to leave and boy was that a mistake. Carter cried for a day strait every time he or I moved his legs. He would just lay on the floor and cry without moving until I picked him up. So fussy!

Turns out Eric did get the job he was interviewing for. That is a miricale in and of itself. Our rent was going up $200 a month and we needed to give our 30 day notice that Friday. We prayed and decided that the best thing would be to move to another apartment or to California and we would have a month to figure it out. So we gave our notice and everything fell into place. For months I had been searching and applying for positions for Eric and researching schooling options and everything else to help us reach the next step in our lives. His job right now is very unreliable because it is so dependent on the weather. This year we have had so much rain and snow there is and will be serious flooding. So anyway after months of pondering, praying, fasting, paying tithing and fast offering, trying to survive, and researching one night I decided to just look around at some companies in Southern California and send them Eric's stuff. Well I sent his resume, cover letter, letter of recommendation, and picture to two companies that night. The next morning he had a email stating that they were impressed and wanted an interview.

Now remember there wasn't even a position open and we had been being considered for a number of other positions that were posted and still are waiting to hear back a month later. So next day right. We set up a time while Carter is at his doc. appointment since Eric would need to get off work so we could have the car. And well the rest is history. The owners of www.socalandscape.com had been overwhelmed with work and were considering hiring someone to help when Eric's resume landed in their laps. Because it is in LA California most of their workers are Hispanic. Eric is bilingual, their designer is retiring, Eric has his design degree from one of the top horticulture schools, they need help managing their maintenance, Eric has worked in all the different fields of maintenance, they need help furthering their company, Eric is getting his MBA in management and wants to help companies be more organized and profitable. It was a match made in heaven. Their work is SO beautiful and unique. It is a small company but has great reviews and Eric says the best designs he has ever seen. He feels intimated but confident that the Lord wouldn't give him something he couldn't handle.

So crazy, with everything else going on in life now we are moving to a foreign place, but a beautiful place with a great job. We are looking for housing in Santa Clarita, California because it is much more spaced out and family friendly. Eric's commute will be about 20-30 mins. Eric's family will be 2 1/2 hours away not in traffic and 4 1/2 hours away in traffic. That stinks, we wished we could see them more often. It also stinks how far away we are from my family. We can take a plane ride home and web chat with all of them monthly however so that helps. I am looking forward to my Grandma Denney's big Thanksgiving meals, and fun Christmas traditions from my parents. I am also looking forward to renting a cabin in the mountains and inviting all of Eric's family to stay and have Christmas and play games and have snow ball fights like I have with my family growing up in Idaho. California does have snow, you just have to drive to it. But most of all I am looking forward to going outside almost every day with the kids and getting their energy out. No more 8 months of cold weather.

So our perfect morning/afternoon. This last Saturday, the Carter was screaming from his shots was a wonderful day. It was about 75 degrees, and it was the first Saturday in the last 9 weeks that Eric didn't have to work. I had actually cleaned the house and done the dishes earlier so the day was ours. We went to Aden's friend James' first soccer game. Which it was really cute. He is three years old so their soccer uniforms looked more like dresses as they didn't make them small enough for this age group. Then we went to the store and got some snacks and diapers. We have been shopping at Smiths because every dollar we spend there we get a penny off every gallon of gas. So $1000=$1 off every gallon. Also they give at have a lot of great deals and coupons. Then we went on a drive up the Jordan river to a fun park and went on a hike and picnic. We stopped at a little pond where there were fish and snails and Eric and Aden played with a little snail since is was too muddy to catch a fish with his hand like they did last time they were there. Then we walked back and went shopping for some clothes. Old Navy was having a celebration and giving out Cotton candy, snow cones, and popcorn. We were so happy to know our prayers were answered, the weather was perfect, and we were together. It was perfect. :)

Carter has been really grumpy again since his shots and when I give him tylonel he goes to happy perky Carcar like his normal personality. Grumpy winny baby=grumpy winny momma and toddler. It could be teething but he can't live on Tylenol!!! He has 6 teeth and has had that many for about 3 weeks. When he was teething these his gums swelled up and turned white and he was SO cranky, nobody got any sleep!

We had another week of rain and get locked up in our apartment and go crazy. So this weekend will be 80 degrees and they opened the pool at our apartment so maybe we can go. Now if we can just avoid all the booties and boobies that come with a pool.

Eric is flying to California this Friday. I am so proud of him. He is such a wonderful man and husband and deserves a position of respect and responsibility where he can learn, grow, and shine. We hope this will be it. He is flying in to Ontario, Ca and his Dad will pick him up. Then they are having a family reunion get together dinner. We haven't been down there for about 1 1/2 years. Then the next morning he has to be at his new job at 7am which means he will be leaving a little before 5am. That day he will need to look at housing and make and sign his work contract. He will also be going to a meeting with a client for their company to see how everything works.

They want him to start as soon as possible so we are trying to figure out how he can do that. I'll just say that a truly broken heart to Heavenly Father allows him to give you what you need and want. When you think you know what you want, usually it is harder for you to hear what HE wants for you. Everything I have found about Santa Clarita seems like the perfect place for me and my family right now. I had never even heard of it.

We are grateful for our South Jordan experience. We truly have learned SO much in the last 6 months. It has been the perfect stepping stone to go to this big move. Here are some model pics of our apartment. We have LOVED it here and loved even more that we got it for such a good price. We are one of the few who have an excellent view from our patio and windows. We can see 3 temples, the river, live dear in the land by the river, the city, and the mountains.

We live on the 4th floor and have fond memories of walking down the great playground and around the pool and to the lounge to get some fresh baked cookies, just to burn off the calories on our 4 flight climb. :)

My favorite part of the whole thing...

I was chosen to be the model for a make up application seminar they hosted. It was fun. I sat in front of about 30 women and the teacher applied the new spring look. We have also enjoyed free breakfasts on occasional Saturday's. Their workout room is awesome but I haven't been getting enough sleep to have the energy to use it. They also have a free trainer come twice a week. The week I went I was the only one and it was way harder then my body was ready for so I didn't really enjoy it. I am still stuck on Fluidity if I ever get the motivation to exercise.

I am writing this for our personal record and scrapbook because it is a lot easier then actually scrapbooking. So no worries if you didn't read any of it!

Carter has been teething 5 teeth the last 2 weeks. The poor thing. He is so cute and snuggles his little doggy as he goes to bed. Aden named his dog Ho ho.

We had our friends Dave and Melissa over the other night and the boys had matching pajamas so we arranged this picture. When I ask Aden who his best friend is about half the time he says "Kay" which is Clay. The other half it is Daddy, and occasionally Cody...can't get him to say Mama. Aden did say Dad's best friend and Carter's best friend was me. :)
Oh and Santa is his best friend too.

Carter is now able to sit up by himself for as long as he wants. He usually gets bored after a few mins. and reaches for a toy falling over. He Loves food and is such a social bug. He wiggles, rolls and pushes himself to wherever he wants to be. He loves his Jonny Jump up and Aden and his Dad get out the motorcycle while Carter watches excitedly from his jumper.
He and his brother and Dad all have bad colds...again. He is also learning to sleep through the night. He fights sleeping so bad because he just wants to stay up and play with everyone else. I am now letting him cry a bit in his crib and keeping a schedule and he is taking 2 good naps and going to bed at 7pm and waking around 8am.

Aden has been learning English, sign language, and spanish. We do the sign with the English word and then the sign with the spanish word so he connects that they mean the same thing. His vocabulary has exploded and he is a big talker. Today he is so sick and sad though :( Hopefully he will get a good night sleep and feel better tomorrow.

Well Merry Christmas and Happy New Year we had a fun Christmas up in Rexburg w/ my fam. My G- Crystal was there from IL and my G-Chuck was there from WI. We had a lot of fun activities like sledding, snowball fights, gingerbread house decorating, eating too much, and playing games. I was surprised to see that my just turned 4 year old niece, Kyla, is reading at a 4th grade reading level or more. She still thinks like a newly turned 4 year old though. :) We had a lot of fun teaching the young kids about Santa and being excited for his stop at Grandma and Grandpas.

My favorite thing about Christmas was decorating my designer tree and giving things to others who needed them more then me.

Some news going on in our family is we have moved to South Jordan Utah. We really love it hear and have a beautiful apartment with lots of fun perks. One of our favorite are the fresh baked cookies in the lounge. But there are so many great things it is hard to pick one. We are in a two bedroom now so the boys are learning to share a room.

Aden enjoys climbing into Carter's crib weather he is there or not. Aden loves loves loves Choo Choo trains. He got so many different types for Christmas we spent all day rotating the train activities. He has also been potty training. He went #2 for the first time on the poty and was rewarded with a trip to the book store.

Aden is really growing up. He is 2 1/2 and really has been learning how to help around the house. He give really warm magical hugs and kisses. We call them pancake hugs because he tackles us with them.

Carter is 5 months now. No teeth yet. Aden had two by this time. Carter is growing faster then Aden and going through clothes quickly. He has a warm magical smile. Everywhere we go he smiles at people and warms their hearts. I have heard from complete strangers at church, "You have the cutest kids I have ever seen." They even have their own grandkids and still say ours have the million dollar faces. Carter loves his jonny jump up. It has a tray so we tie toys on and let him bounce away. He also loves laying on the ground and playing and rolling. He just rolled back from his stomach twice yesterday for the first time. We have all had pretty bad colds and Carter hates getting his nose sucked. So that is pretty much the only time he crys. We have to make sure to get him his acid reflux medicine on time once a day. If we are late we seem to always have a hard night. He is responding well to that and no cows milk. He is a giggler and is ticklish just like Aden and his Dad.

We got a new dining table and Carter a little booster so now we all sit around the table together. Carter just started solids and he loves applesauce.

Eric is being a very good example of being Christ-like through all of our trials. He had been working full time looking for a good job for our family. He has also been working on finding what he wants to do for his career. It comes easier to some then others. We have had a long journey but hopefully this latest idea will be the one.

We hope to stay in the South Jordan area and start Eric's Masters degree online this year. He was interested in computer programming but with his Horticulture background it is very difficult to compete with those who have solely focused on IT or CS as their BA and so forth. He did take that lead of interest and mix it with his other idea of MBA and we think he is going to go for an MBA in Information Technology Management. That is a career where he would help manage companies technology. It is a very well paying and growing career. He is currently looking into three different online schools that offer it. Since he has a minor in Spanish and Business that helps him qualify.

Eric and I have made some friends that have been so kind to tend our kids a couple hours a week for date night. Cody and Jen are their names. We will be sad to loose them when Cody gets his MBA at the end of the semester and moves for a job. Aden calls him Co-e. :)

As far as job hunting is going Eric is was offered a really good year round landscape position but the catch is door to door sales and we have to wait until Feb 15th to start. It has full benefits so we will see if we can find something sooner and if not that will be the job. In this tough economy we feel very blessed.

So nothing set in stone but we are getting there. Love you all and thank you for you love and prayers!

Carter rolled over twice today on the ground. Too bad I missed both of them. All we know is we put him on his back and kept Aden close to us a few mins. later he was on his tummy. He rolled at 2 1/2 months I believe but it was on a bed with help of some covers. Carter is so active. He smiles at all strangers and makes their day. He loves being tossed in the air by Dad, finds Aden hilareous and interesting, and loves snuggling his Mama.

Aden is speaking in full sentences and says he is asking Santa for a choo choo, a bike, and some treats. Him and Carter love their nightly baths and overall just love life. We live in South Jordan now and Aden says he likes our New House more then our old one and says he is happy here :)

Six year ago from Halloween day was Eric and my first date. We met that weekend at a Regional Halloween Conference. On Halloween he took me to a haunted vineyard which gave me the perfect opportunity hold tight to his arm... :) Now look what cute kids we have :)

Eric and I were dressed for an African Safari and the kids were the giraffes we found and brought home because they were just too cute. This year we trick-or-treated in Rexburg to families homes the week before and then went to the Library for Halloween story time and then had a trunk-or-treat with our ward. Our truck was the only one decorated...I went full out too. It was fun. We ran out of candy really quick because we didn't know if was a combined ward trunk-or-treat. So then we went and bought more for the kids coming to our house and only got 1 group of trick-or-treaters the whole weekend. Oh well. Maybe when we buy a home we will get real trick-or-treaters. :)

Eric all dressed up for his interview. We originally went down for this interview which is a position at Wells Fargo. Things changed and we were presented with a better best idea of a career instead of banking. We stayed with our friends Dave and Melissa. Eric was able to walk around their yard and give them some really great tips. Dave does Software Programing and Design for the church and was mentioning the possiblity for Eric. Eric already knew a bit about that and really enjoys it. Because the other interview was not a short little one on one, but a 2-4 hour group interview, we post poned it until we knew that was what we wanted. Instead we went and bought the book to get certified as a IT. So anywho we will see what happens. In the mean time we had a fun trip and if this doesn't work out he will have another opportuinity to interview with Wells Fargo. I guess we were also feeling this would be a super hard time to move with all our health problems and Eric has a lot of work lined up for his business. :)

This is Aden and Clay. They are 1 month apart. The Geddes' had to evacuate in the middle of the night the previous night do to the fire in Herriman that was blowing over the mountain behind their home. Clay was pretty tired and Aden was trying to comfort him to help him be happy. They had fun running around all morning.

Carter is such a wonderful little piece of heaven. We sure love him! Aden has been really growing up and is learning how he can help. He likes to give about 1 pat to burp him, he will run to get things for Mom and Dad, he likes to hold his bottle, he like to force his pacifier in his mouth, he loves to steal his pacifier and put it in his own mouth and more. If only I could feel better it would be a little more picture perfect. I am pretty sure Carter is sensitive to cows milk like Aden was at this age and have caught it early, due to a number of different reasons for the health of Carter and our family he is on formula and now on soy. It seems to be really helping and he is a little peaceful sweet baby when he has the right food in him. So we are hangin in there and tryin hard to enjoy this crazy time of life.

Yeah! Carter and I are feeling so much better. Thank you for all your love and prayers! Carter is actually sleeping!! That means that I can spend time with Aden and today I am making Aden's birthday cake and Carter's blessing cake. So fun pick up my hobby again;)

Well I will keep this short because it is 12:30 am and frankly I want to go to bed. Life with a family of 4 has been pretty challenging. Two weeks ago I woke up with terrible pain in my breast and having Carter nurse on it was unbearable. I called the doctor and was prescribed antibiotics for a breast infection. I started feeling better but a few days later when it should have been gone I still ached. So then he saw Carter who had a terrible bum rash that wouldn't go away and a yeast infection. Since I had Strep B when Carter was born I had to be on antibiotics. They usually cause thrush with women which is a yeast infection in the breast. So I was treated for that. It was supose to be gone in 3 days. Yet I still ached, and even worse now in both breasts. The doctor just said heat packs and sent me on my way.

Well Carter has been really gassy/colicky and his feedings are short and interrupted by burping for a half hour or so and he couldn't sleep more then 10 minuets because his stomach would hurt and wake him. So that equals very little sleep for Mom and So I couldn't do much but feed, burp and change his diapers all day and night. Gratefully Eric has been able to take time off and give Aden the attention he needs and make dinner and help with whatever.

Well come to find out(through prayers and internet research) now 2 weeks later I have something called hyperlactation syndrome. It means I produce too much milk. This causes my children to fill up on the formilk which is mostly water. This gives them gas and makes them hungry all the time. Aden had this same problem I just didn't know what to do about it. It's kind of like drinking a few glasses of water before dinner and then realizing you are full but yet you still feel hungry. I also have Thrush which is the yeast infection in the breast but it didn't go away with the medicine that the doctor proscribed and will be more complicated to get rid of but hopefully successful.

So for now I am pumping out my formilk before each feeding and thanks to my cousin RayLyn (an RN and lactation consultant)I have gained a better understanding of helping Carter be more successful nursing. Today has been day 1 but Carter took a few long and peaceful naps in his own bed today. He has been so calm and happy and satisfied. He is finally able to be full and feel full. Tonight he smiled a lot and I got a few of them on camera.

I feel so blessed. I am so grateful for people who answer my prayers. ;) I am also grateful for the Lord telling them how to answer my prayers.

We are looking forward to Carter's baby blessing in Rexburg this weekend along with Aden's 2nd Birthday party. Aden is really excited and is getting a BeeBo birthday party. Beebo is his new favorite thing. He is the baby signs bear. Aden calls him Bo and we have a lot of fun with him at home.

Aden's vocabulary has exploded these last few weeks. He is also being potty trained. He is so excited and would spend the whole day on the pot if we let him. He has gone #1 once and passes gas all the time. Some of you who have never potty trained probably don't want to read this...hehe. But we are so proud of him and excited he is learning and growing. He has a cute little Winnie the Pooh potty seat and gets 1 treat for trying and 2 treats for going. Yeah Aden you are growing up SO fast!

I'll add more later...for now I am going to nurse and go to sleep hopefully for a peaceful night in my own bed.

After countless hours of learning and growing I peaced together the baby nursery. I designed it and created it. I got the crib used and painted it. I made the bedding from scratch, I made the changing pad cover, I redid the cabinet, I designed and made the curtains, and even covered the wipes container. Hope you like it ;)

As many of you know, Eric's job/career has not been working out with our family. He enjoyed the work for the most part but the schedule and the way his boss ran the company did not line up with our family. There were a number of unkept promises and no potential of vacation, benefits, furthering Eric's education, or pay increase. So we asked the Lord why he sent us out here and what he wants us to do next.

Eric's last day will be Thursday and we have decided for him to start his own pruning business. We bought a really cheep sturdy truck for him to hall the branches away and spent a little money getting all the proper tools. We are really excited and Eric is really great with people and has a great interest in this. We already have 3 jobs lined up. We have had a very low start up cost and haven't had to go into any debt. We have money to pay ahead on our rent for a few months and he will be doing door to door sales asking if people are interested in free bids on tree's he notices need some work. He will also be doing flower bed maintenance, fall clean up, tree nutrients, pruning shrubs, and landscape consulting with a little design.

Is it risky? Yeah a little bit, but you have to take risks to make your dreams come true and we trust the Lord and have made a decision that we feel is best for our family at this time.

Our long term goals are having Eric start school online next year and get his MBA possibly in business finance and then have him work at a salary job as an advisor for some company. We are planning on having this pruning company for a few years while he is going to school.

Happy Independence Day

We had a great long weekend and I hope you did too. We were able to get 1 day off of work from Eric's job and we filled it with fun. We drove to Rexburg and stayed with my Grandparents late friday night. Then Saturday morning we went to the Rexburg parade. It was really fun. We meet two of my brothers there and between Kyla, Tayven and Aden's cute little cheeks we got sooo much candy we didn't know what to do with it. It was really fun to sit right on the front row. One cheerleader stopped what she was doing, went and got a piece of candy and brought it to Aden's stroller and said "Oh he is just so cute!!!" I had to agree ;)

Later that day Eric and I were able to go visit my Great-Grandma Hansen at the nursing home. She is recovering so well. Her face use to be completely black and blue and when we went I barley saw any bruises. I was able to play her some 4th of July music and some other favorite pieces on my violin. We all really enjoyed it.

Then we had a cook out at my Grandparents and played in there big green yard. Aden had so much fun. Last we went to the fireworks with my sister and brother and their families and walked....a lot. :) I have pinched blood vessels from baby Carter and the gravity of walking made my leg really ache. I survived though. It was Eric's first time at the Melaleuca fireworks and we got perfect seats. Aden woke up right before they started and cried and tried to run away from them the whole time they were going. So I stood on the back of the lawn and tried to keep him happy. I still had a moment of enjoying them and appreciating all the wonderful things the Lord has blessed me with. Mostly, I am so grateful for my freedom, being born into this church, and my dear family.

My nephew Tayven! This is Hyrum and Amiee's little boy. It was fun to visit everyone in Rexburg and watch Tayven dig in his cake and open his presents. He has such cute little cheeks I love to kiss them :)
Here is my Great Grandma Hansen and Aden's Great Great Grandma. She is 93 and the sweetest lady you will ever meet. She sadly took a bad fall last weekend and broke most of the bones and nerves in her face. She is so strong and made it through a long surgery that turned out to be close to 6 1/2 hours. She is already out of the hospital and seems to not be in very much pain due to the nerves breaking also. We are so blessed to have her in our lives and are glad she is still alive and making a miracle recovery. When I was born until 2 years old we lived around the corner from Grandma in Roosevelt Utah. Then she moved to Rexburg and I moved to Idaho falls for 6 years. Then I moved to Rexburg and have lived around the corner ever since the last few months that I have been in Pocatello. I feel lucky because most people don't know their great grandmothers as well as I have been able to.
Here is Aden with his cousin Tayven at Tayven's 1st birthday party in Rexburg. So cute! His Mom Amiee and I think they look a bit a like and act alike sometimes too. The older Tayven gets the more fun they will be able to have together. They are only about 1/2 year apart but it's a big difference at the beginning.

This is the table set with the dishes I inherited from my first Mama. We used these dishes every Sunday to have baked potato bar. This was the first time they had been used since she was alive so I thought it would be fun while Hyrum was over to have the traditional Sunday meal on these dishes. Now that I have a bigger kitchen I could get them in the cupboard instead of a box. It was so much fun to have Hyrum, Amiee, Kyla, and Tayven come visit and see our new home. They were nice enough to leave us their wii to play too. :)

Eric had his best Father's Day yet. Gratefully it was much better then my Mother's day when Eric had to work. This is Eric's new shirt from Aden and us hanging out on the porch. Eric also got a remote control helicopter which he has been having a lot of fun with. It shoots little missiles and he is getting a good aim. ;)

How is everyone doing? I haven't blogged for a while for two reasons. 1st I have been working super hard to decorate our new home so I can post the finished pictures and 2nd because we didn't have the internet for about 1 1/2 weeks so as I have finished things I couldn't post them.

Life is still crazy here with Eric's work schedule. It's been hard to adjust having Sunday and Monday off and him working Tuesday-Saturday sometimes 8am-8pm. Coming home at 7pm is a little more normal though. We thought this schedule would only last until the end of May but his boss seemed to have changed his mind and wants to keep it this way until October!! That is a big difference. So we are hoping to change his hours so he can maybe go in earlier and come home sooner and have...a life? Yes that is what it is called when you do something else besides go to work and come home and sleep then start over.

My pregnacy is going well as far as health goes. Baby Carter is constantly kicking and punching and doing cartwheels. It makes me a little sick when he is active but it is fun to feel him knowing his is alive and well in there. I had about a month of feeling good and then the last number of days the nausia, headaches, dizziness, and fatigue have come back almost 24-7. I take 1/2 Unisom sleep aid when it gets too bad but it really knocks me out for about 12 hours. So I need Eric to be home to take care of Aden if I'm going to do that.

Here are some pics of some stuff we have been up to.

This is Eric watering the plants at Brady's Plant Ranch.( His new job) Eric is responsible for tending and hand watering I believe 13 green houses'. We were able to go visit him for a few hours and see his work. You would not believe how many hanging baskets they had at the beginning of the season. Make a guess......you would be right if you guessed 3,000. So it is crucial that Eric doesn't take sick days because depending on the weather the plants can dry out or mold all within a day or so.

One of Eric's professional designs is being installed under his management this Friday. It will be his first design actually becoming a reality. He is getting the plants from the greenhouse and making commission off them and the owner's son is installing them. The project is in Rigby, Id. We are all excited to see how it turns out and excited for a little pay check on the side. ;) GO ERIC!!

This is Aden at Brady's Plant Ranch. We went and saw what Papa does at work and got to go play with the stinky chickens too. That was Aden's favorite part. We have plenty of fresh farm eggs thanks to those chickens!
Aden got to help paint his room. He did all those strokes by himself. It was funny because every time he would put it on the wall he would go back and dip the brush again. So as he walked to the wall it would drip and then his feet would stick to the plastic. He couldn't figure out what was going on. He painted for a good 15 mins. or so and then said he was finished and I could do the rest. It was fun to let him help. He is such a cuttie patootie.

It is missing the headboad but that won't fit in our car so it will have to wait until I can get help transporting it. Our theme for the Master bedroom is "Our piece of Paradise. I am hoping to finish it tomorrow for our 4th anniversary. This way we will have our own theme suite instead of paying over $200 for one night in a themed suite.

As I mentioned before we live in a twin home, or duplex. These are the two boys that we shared a wall with. Sadly they moved out but we are hoping they can find a place around here in 6 months when they are planning on coming back. Aden just loved them and they loved Aden. For only knowing them a few weeks they felt like brothers. ;)

Well we are getting settled in Pocatello Idaho and can't believe how much we like it here. The weather has been so beautiful this last week and we have great mountain views out every window. Both our neighbors are members of the church with kids and have been super nice. Sadly they are both moving within the next few months. Hopefully the new neighbors will have kids too. Our ward has been really great and I have made a lot of friends. We are looking forward to getting callings sometime soon too. Eric has been working Tuesday- Saturday 10-12 hours including driving and lunch. Long days and a lot of watering plants. He is doing good though and really likes it. One more month of busy and he will have a better schedule.

After!! We got this set for a steal. The owner didn't use them very much as they were traveling with work and moved into a new twin home with a washer and dryer already there and didn't need both. They paid somewhere from $1300-1600 in 2008 and advertised $800 on craigslist. I talked them down to $500 and said we would pick up that night. So Eric came home from work and went strait to I.F. after unloading and returning the van to work he didn't get home until 10:30pm. Poor guy. We sure love them though. The dryer has a time sensor that turns it off when the clothes sense dry. I was able to 6 loads of laundry in 3 because of the high capacity ability. We are also so blessed to get energy efficient. A new washer and dryer top loaders would have been cheepest around $700 and they were not energy savors. So we are really excited and feel so blessed. Cloth diapers will be a little easier to wash for the new baby :)

Saturday April 10, 2010 Eric received his Bachlors degree in Horticulture with an Emphasis in Design Build and a cluster in Spanish and Business. We are all so proud of him and grateful for the new job he started a few days later!!

We getting all moved in and purchased our first washer and dryer and I painted for the first time. We are also living in our first twin home and are really liking all the extra space. More pictures to come. Meanwhile we are all really tired and Eric is working long days. Life is working us hard and we are glad to be alive. I am almost 6 months pregnant and have moved to a new doctor that is very highly recommended so we are excited. Love you all! Thanks for your help and love in getting us where we are today ;)

Our Easter Present!

Combining a few elements from our other bedding set I was ready for a fresh new look. I will be making a canopy for our new bedroom and this is our cute easter present. We are keeping our other bedding set to switch with this one when I get bored of it. I seem to get bored easy with decorations and like to keep things fresh. That is one reason why i chose white. I can just change the throw pillows and have a whole new look. We love it and it is soo comfortable!! ;) I love decorating!

We purchased these couches at a steal noticing their potential. I spent about an hour vacuuming pet hair out of the sofa and Eric got to do the love seat. Then I ended up scrubbing every inch with hot soapy water and then we dried it over night and with a blow dryer. What a difference!! It smells, feels and looks new.

3 weeks to go and this is our living room....well I figured since I haven't been feeling well we should start packing asap so I make sure I get it all finished by the time we want to move. My 24th Birthday

My Birthday was Sunday the 21st. It started that Thursday night with a surprise double date to Olive Garden with my sister Christina and her husband Troy. Eric had me close my eyes and told me a driver was picking us up. It turned out to be Troy. It was fun to snuggle in the back seat of their new truck and get dropped off and picked up at the front of Olive garden. They treated us to whatever we want and we all were stuffed with plenty to take home for later. ;)These are some of the cool views we were able to see in I.F. this time of year.

Well I don't think the tree's really look like that right now. But we love the view of the temple we were sealed in.
Friday night we took a spuratic needed vacation to Ameritel Inn in I.F. We had so much fun ;)
A full hot breakfast in the morning....I accidentally tasted coffee for the first time. I thought the French Vanilla, that was between the coffee and the hot chocolate was hot chocolate and mixed a little in. One taste and blah tastes just like it smells. Total honest accident though.
Fun pool and spa filled with Elementary aged kids and their parents on vacation. We thought Aden would love it but he hated it. He was screaming and so scared of the water. Eric ended up letting me stay and swim for a little bit and took Aden back to our room.
Where we ordered my favorite pizza, Pizza Hut Hawaiian. Forty-five minuets later it came and it was barley warm. It was still good but it is better when you eat in.
We surfed the luggage carriers!

And just relaxed!
Aden wanted to order room service, but we decided to unplug the phone and let me pretend instead.

Sunday was nice and relaxing. Up's and downs with pregnancy but for the most part I felt pretty good this weekend and had tonz of fun and great memories! Yeah for birthday's and being spoiled rotten!

We had an ultra sound today and clear as day we have a little man on our hands. We have a picture of him sucking his thumb, with his legs open wide, and then crossing them at the ankle. He is healthy and well and we are a little shocked but mostly excited. :)

Hey everybody. We heard back from the manager today and she said that the place is ours starting April 3rd or 4th. So we may end up moving the week before finals....that is still to be determined.

The owner agreed to let us paint but we have to pay for it, Eric has to help with the little time and energy he has, and I have to start feeling better. The last two days have been so hard I can hardly take care of Aden and get up to eat and go potty every hour or so. I have been having really bad head aches and pain reliever doesn't seem to do anything. I have also been really nauseous and dizzy with body aches.

Last month my doctor prescribed a prescription that he says everyone he knows swears by. He said he has never heard of anyone having side effects and that it has really helped with nausea. Turns out it is a $600 prescription for 30 tablets but I only had to pay $10 thanks to my insurance. Well I was the first on the list to have side effects and was sick to my stomach for a week plus it didn't even help. The taste was so terrible as it dissolved in my mouth I almost threw up right then and there. So much for being one in a million huh?

I am 16 weeks along I think... the babies heart beat is strong and good and we are both checking in healthy so that is the most important. I am slowly gaining weight but haven't hit my pre preg weight yet. The doctor tells me to eat more or eat more often. Neither one sounds fun when your dizzy and sick. How many of you ladies had rough pregnancy's? We are voting this one is a girl because how emotional I have been with everything. ;) What is your guess?

Waiting to hear....and still sick

Well the women who lived in the twin home we want decided to move out earlier this month. So she wouldn't have to pay the extra rent she found a few people to move in during March....since we don't want to pay hundreds extra and it is too much stress for us to move early....we may be looking for a new place.

We know that the Lord will open another window if he closes this door and we will end up wherever he wants us. Hopefully an even nicer place ;) The owner has been "thinking about it" for a week and is suppose to let us know sometime today.

Pregnancy has been pretty demanding. I still feel pretty sick most days. I have to sleep like 12 hours still and I am 3 weeks into my second tri. The doctor gave me a prescription for my nausea but it only made things worse. So I feel blessed to be home with Aden. He is very patient with me and Eric helps out a lot. We get to hear the babies heart beat every doctors visit and around March 20th, our next visit we find out the gender! Cool stuff huh?

We are so excited for my Brother and Sister In-law. They just welcomed a new little boy into their home about a week ago. They had 3 girls and one boy and now have a little bit more man around the house. I'm sure his older brother is excited to have a brother. They live in Wa so we don't know when we will get to meet him. His name is Jasper Otto Kowallis. Congrats Craig and Amiee!

We are planning on moving April 12th 2010. That is the Monday after graduation for Eric. He is starting driving down once a week to get a handle on things and then starts full time April 14th.

We are moving to a townhouse/duplex that is 2 years old. It is a 3 bed 1 1/2 bath. It is a townhouse style as in two story bedrooms on the top floor and stacked next to other units, but duplex in and of that there is a break between every two units. So we really only share the building with one other family. We have a shared backyard that is grass and fenced in with 6 units. It should be fun and there is a family with 3 young kids and a stay at home Mom I am hoping Aden and I can befriend. We are planning on staying 2 years at least and are really excited to have about 1400 square feet instead of 650 sq ft.

There is no garage but assigned parking right in front of our door. There is a four foot deep crawl space under the whole living room with a light for storage. That will be so nice to use our closets just for clothes and shoes. :)

In the master bedroom there are small walk in closets a his and hers. That will be fun to have my own. In the bathroom there is granite countertop and lots of space. I am looking forward to painting for the first time and adding some color to our lives :)

We are lucky to be only about 25 mins from Eric's work because he is working in Virginia Id. It is so small there isn't even a store, not even a gas station. So we decided Pocatello would have more options for housing and shopping. We are also blessed to have got a job close to my family but giving us some space to get out of my hometown. We are planning on coming down probably every other month to come to the temple and drop Aden off at Grandparents.

Pocatello here we come!

This is Aden and his cousin Kyla. She just turned three. While she is twice his age he still has a lot of fun playing tag and following her around. She is learning that he doesn't understand what she is telling him all the time and that sometimes he doesn't want to hold hands and dance. ;) He is learning that hitting is not a good way to get positive attention when he is excited. They are really cute together and have a lot of fun.

Wowy....sorry the picture is blurry but look at the size of my tummy these days. I am twelve weeks along and the baby should be about the size of a lemon. Don't worry too much though, while my tummy is growing the pounds are not. I am still weighing in about 8 pounds under my pre-pregnancy weight. I'm sure the pounds will trickle in soon enough. Hopefully not too many this time. :)I am healthy and so is the baby so that's the most important.

Gratefully I have more energy, don't have to sleep AS much and don't feel sick ALL the time. ;) I am having way too much fun planning Aden and his siblings new room. I am deciding between Wild West theme and Prince and Princess if it's a girl or Prince and Prince if it's a boy. Either way I would like to make either a wagon or a carriage for their beds and create a room of imagination, originality, and fun for them in our new duplex. ;)

Our family took a wild adventure to the living room this weekend. We set up our tent and air mattress' and tried out our new king sleeping bag we got for Christmas from my parents. So wonderful! This is the best way to camp with a pregnant Mommy and a little toddler, especially in the winter. ;) Well we had a lot of fun and stayed up late listening to "Tennis Shoes Among the Nephites" books on tape.

Happy Birthday to my little bro who turned 14 this month. Nathan has always been so fun to be around. He is currently enjoying church basketball, skiing with friends, school, and playing with his new Ginny Pig he got for his birthday. This is Nathan's first pet and he and his friends were given 3 Ginny pigs and 2 large cages at his birthday party while playing bigger or better. My parents gave in and said he could keep one. :) Yeah Nathan!

Aden is such pile of fun and laughs these days. He is learning a lot and becoming a young man. He loves climbing, reading, laughing, teasing, running, and is learning how to jump. I'll have to get that on camera. ;) He has 9 teeth and 1 on the way. All are in the front of his mouth except one on his top left for chewing. That helps with eating more variety of foods however all he wants to eat these days is cheese, fruit snacks, yogurt, juice, milk, crackers, chicken, and fish sticks. I guess that's not too bad. His favorite is cheese and gratefully his body has adjusted to milk and he is doing really great with no sign of bum rash.

Aden needs to be 18 months to go to nursery but I took him and stayed for a little while the other day in our old ward's nursery. He loved it so much he ran back to that side of the church, found the door and was knocking on it waiting for me to open the door and let him go play again. He sat quietly on his knees and listened to the lesson sitting in the front and paying close attention, then he colored a picture and shared his crayons. So cute ;) We are glad he likes other kids so much. Church is going to be a lot easier in 2 months. ;)

This is Aden's new glow worm he bought with his Christmas money from his Grandma and Grandpa. He loves it so much and it is the first comfort toy he has attached to. ;)

We had not put the rail on yet. He really likes having a big boy bed and has switched to one afternoon nap and is sleeping through the night every night now. What a miracle! He is still to short to climb into his bed so we leave the ottoman from our rocker at the opening for him to climb in.

This is a picture of Aden taking his first nap in his toddler bed. He was studying how to be a good big brother with the book "Hippo learns to help" when he fell right asleep. This big brother stuff is hard work. ;)

Eric had an ad on Craigslist for residential landscape design. He was contacted by an business owner and offered a position as a Nursery Manager right outside of Pocatello in a small town called Virginia. My ancestors actually started that town and my Grandpa was born there.

We have been searching for the right position for months and trying to line things up for a year but the Lord works in mysterious ways. We are not positive we are moving to Pocatello because we are still waiting to hear from two other companies. We do know that with the economy this position is a lot more stable then landscape design work and Eric wouldn't have to be out in the cold and hot mowing lawns and putting up Christmas lights. So it seems like the best next step up for our family. I have been looking for a townhome to move into and have found a few really beautiful ones.

Eric gradutes in April and I believe the job will start soon after that. We should find out the baby's gender around that time too!

Happily Introducing...

Happily introducing baby #2 ;) I am 9 weeks pregnant and due August 6th! They say you show sooner on your second. I would have to agree. This is me at 5 weeks. I wasn't that big until 4 months with Aden. Soon after that I started getting nauseous night and day and have had a huge loss of appetite. So instead of gaining weight I have lost almost all my baby fat I had left from Aden. That is a blessing but the whole feeling sick all the time has been hard.

Our Christmas was early with my family this year. We were able to have Christmas dinner with my parents and Grandparents and have some great memories. Then we headed down to the warm weather!

We spend two weeks in Southern California with Eric's family. It was so fun to see them and they were so excited to have us there for our first Christmas together. I invited the other siblings to sleep over with their spouses and kids and we webcamed Eric's brother and his family on the TV Christmas morning up in WA. So for the first time in over 10 years Eric's family got to be together on Christmas. It was so fun and Aden loved all the attention. We were showered in gifts and attention. Our schedule was so full we never made it to the beach. Better luck next time. :) We had an amazing Christmas and New Years and I hope you did too!

Aden played Joseph and his cousin Julie played Mary for our Nativity this year. It was so cute. Eric's family isn't very musical but I brought my violin and played loud on the Hymns and everyone happily sung along in out of tune. :) We went caroling to Eric's Grandparents and their neighbors and I brought my violin and played my arrangement of "Oh Holy Night" they all really liked it. I had the opportunity to perform a lot because very few people in Eric's family play instruments and they all wanted to hear. It was really fun for me to share my talent this Christmas.

One of my favorite things to do is decorate for Christmas. Well I am an interior designer/decorator and Christmas is my favorite holiday. If I ever go into the field to work I would like to be a commercial Christmas decorator in malls and for individual window displays. I think that would be so much fun!

Eric and I have been studying Christmas Tree decorating and this is my tree before...

And after.... I decided to do a more professional look then homemade look with family ornaments this year. I hung my ornaments around the house in other places to enjoy them. All the presents under the tree are for Aden.... ;) We didn't put in the bottom insert of the tree and placed it on the Armoire so Aden couldn't reach it.

I want to make Aden a stocking to match these. If anyone knows where I can get the best priced corduroy please let me know because it is hard to find.

Thanksgiving

We had the stomach flu the week of Thanskgiving. Gratefully we were well enough to eat on Thanksgiving day but we were probably still contagious and didn't want to share the terrible flu with our Grandparents, nieces and nephews that were more prone to getting it. So we had our first Thanksgiving at home, just the three of us.

Eric baked our first bone-in ham and it was delicious and gone within in a couple days.

Aden loves spaghetti so he feasted on that and was full and content. :)
After naps we had a fun family game of basketball. Papa and Aden against Mama. Let's just say Aden made most the baskets and they won by a landslide. Later we played bowling with Aden's plastic pins and Mom beat the boys at that.
Aden was running back and forth laughing so hard. He would go throw the ball in and then clap and give high fives. It was awesome. For being sick we made the few moments of energy totally worth it and still had a great Thanksgiving. I'm glad my family had a great Thanksgiving even though we weren't able to come too.

Halloween

For Halloween Aden was Winnie the Pooh in a Honey pot and Eric and I were bumble bees. Since Eric didn't want to go full out this year I had shirts made that said Bee Costume...Eric forgot to wear his for the picture....oh well ;)
I carved Tiger for our pumpkin carving contest. Eric carved a pirate and a Tetris game.
We invited Aden's Cousins over for a little Halloween play group. Tayven, Kyla and Aden
Aden was afraid of the pumpkin guts. It was kind of funny but sad. He started crying when I tried to put his hand in the pumpkin.

Life has been so fun around the Kowallis home lately. Aden is just such a bundle of joy. He has recently learned how to climb. He climbs on his zebra toy he got for his birthday and the couch. He says "Mom Mom" all the time and it just melts my heart. His Dad has one on one with him every night and chases him around our little apartment barking and Aden runs into his little fort laughing smiling.

We had a fun Halloween with a ward party, pumpkin carving, trick or treating and the Symphony Halloween concert at BYU-Idaho. We feel so lucky!

Life has been good and crazy at the Kowallis' this month. We had a really fun Halloween and will post those pictures later. Aden went trick or treating and then found his candy and discovered that there was something yummy inside. He started eating a tootsie roll with the raper and later ate a sucker and took the wrapper off himself. I was eating his candy bar and he came over and asked for some. I gave him a tinny piece and he ate it then grabbed the rest of the candy bar and shoved it in his mouth. He could barley chew but loved every bite. ;)

Eric's Happy Birthday!~

Eric had his best birthday yet October 2nd. That means I must be doing a good job as a wife. Thank you to all of you who called or facebooked or e-mailed letting him know you thought of him. That is also what made his day so great.

I surprised him by taking him blindfolded to the Harry Potter -The Half Blood Prince. We read it two years ago together and really enjoyed it. The movie was really fun. We were a little disappointed the ending didn't match the book but overall had an awesome time and enjoyed going to the expensive theater for once :)

Sunday Walks at the Nature Park

The Winter is coming and we are trying enjoy our last warm walks. It was 98 degrees Sunday night at the nature park in the sun. Crazy compared to this week huh? We have a lot of fun family memories at the nature park and wanted to share some pictures with you.

Aden is running around all over the place. He is good at catching himself when he falls so it's not so painful. He is a bundle of fun and always laughing and ready to have a good time. We are so grateful for beautiful nature and for each other. :)

Our little snuggas turned 1 yesterday and we all had a blast! I decorated the house after he went to bed the night before so when he woke up he came out and it was all beautiful and fun with balloons all over the floor. He went over to his presents and used the sign for please. It was so adorable. I let him open one of his gifts and we played with it. Aden got more gifts that we don't have here and more people came that we didn't get pictures of. So know that we still love you but I think I already put too many pictures. Being a parents is awesome!

P.S. The Birthday Cake was so yummy. I am surpised at how well it turned out. I spent 1 day and 1 night working on it coming to a total of around 12 hours. It weighed 10 pounds not including the lid. It evened out to 1 pound of cake for every hour I spent making it. ;) It was totally worth it and I enjoyed learning a new skill.

We played a fun game of Water Balloon VB outside our apartment. Grandma and Amiee played with the little ones so us big kids could have fun. ;)

Funny story....Courtney (in front) asked for the bee off the cake. I told her yes and let her take it home. I assumed she just wanted to look at it. She popped it in her mouth as soon as she went out the door. Good thing is is just made of marshmellows and powdered sugar. Her little brother Kyler wanted one too. Since there was one left I gave it to him and he too ate the bee whole. Hope they don't have stomach aches today, that's a lot of sugar. :)

We would like to start regular scripture study with Aden so we decided to get him this children's My First Book of Mormon. We want him to know real hero's that trusted the Lord.

It was no easy task getting this book because they don't make them anymore. I had to special order it from a store that had 3 left. Gratefully I was on top of things this year and got all his presents early ;)

I have been so excited to give Aden this toy since we bought it earlier this summer. It is a bounce and spin Zebra and it sings and neighs. He really loves dancing and playing with it. He still needs to grow a little more for his feet to touch the ground.

This is a pretty intense face...;) Aden was trying to soak in all the new things going on it is a lot to take in your first time!~This cute little basketball is from my brother Hyrum and his family.

My younger sister and her boyfriend Rizzo we so nice to get Aden some fun blocks.

This fun toy is from Aden's Grandma and Grandpa Denney. They were kind enough to take it out and get it ready for him to play.
